Now if I owned one of the many French castles, would I let the general public into my home. I am not sure if I would want people coming and going, looking at all my things, then on the other hand, would I feel comfortable in knowing what I have got, and not sharing it with you. Probably not. And at the end of the day it’s your history to.
The antiques that would come with the building, the fire places, the glass windows, the pictures and most of all the decor, then I would want to share them with the public so they to could share the same feelings I have.
So why is it that more and more Russians are coming to France and buying French castles. Even though there are about 12 thousand antique estates, In the past two years several dozen Russians have purchased a French castle. Which is fine but many of them like to keep them private and not open them to the public. Again this is fine, but do we think, that we are missing out on all the history and sights of these elegant French castles.
A difficult scenario wondering who is right. (I am of course)
